Ingredients & Purity
Uses Nutmeg Ebbtide Leather. The SuperSole 2.0 is a direct-attach process which is more water-resistant than a standard welt but harder to resole.

Meets ASTM F2413-18, M/I/C, EH standards. Extensively tested in oil field environments.
Brand Transparency
Made in the USA with some global components. Red Wing is transparent about their leather sourcing from their own S.B. Foot Tanning Co.
Value Assessment
Mid-to-high price point. Longevity is excellent, though the dual-density sole can eventually crumble after 7-10 years (hydrolysis), unlike all-leather constructions.
Why Not Alternatives?
While less 'stylish' than heritage boots, the SuperSole 2.0 outsole is significantly more resistant to acids and chemicals than the Vibram soles found on Nick's or Thorogood. It offers a more secure fit for narrow feet with its extensive size range.
